Developing from the popularity of the Cambrian Coastcards, a series of postcards featuring artwork from railway related posters of yesteryear, the Cambrian Railways Partnership have launched a series of A2 sized posters to raise money for local good causes.
The initial four posters showing images of Aberystwyth, Barmouth, Barmouth Bridge and Shrewsbury will be available for a minimum donation of £5 each or £15 for a set from the railway stations at Aberystwyth and Machynlleth and at the Tourist Information Centre, located in the station building, at Barmouth.
The money raised from the initiative will be donated to the Air Ambulance Wales and the Machynlleth Town Clock Appeal.
As well as for raising money the posters will be used on trains and as stations as originally intended to promote the destinations and travel to them by train.
Gerwyn Jones on behalf of the Cambrian Railways Partnership commented "Railway related memorabilia is very popular and collectable and this initiative with a limited number of posters being available is a great opportunity for us to work together to promote the area and the railways as well as raising money for very worthy good causes."
