The Cambrian Railways Partnership recently played host to esteemed visitors from the Caribbean in the form of Jamaican Railway Corporation General Manager Mr Owen Crooks and his wife Berni.
Mr Crooks visited Mid Wales to learn more about the role of Community Rail Partnerships in engaging with local communities on rail related matters and the localised rail marketing work that they undertake.

Berni and Owen Crooks about to board the Arriva Trains Wales service at Porthmadog for Shrewsbury.
On behalf of the Cambrian Railways Partnership Gerwyn Jones their Rail Development Officer commented: "It was a really interesting experience to meet Mr Crooks and to discuss with him the work we as a Partnership are involved with as well as the similarities and differences between the Jamaican railways and ours.
"Mr Crooks seemed very interested in Jamaican railways developing a community led approach to their railway - you never know one day I may get the opportunity for a site visit to Kingston or Montego Bay to see how the Community Rail Partnership concept is being taken forward there!"
