The Cambrian Railways Partnership is delighted to report that we have had 3 of our entries shortlisted for National ACORP Awards to be held at Torquay in October.

The projects shortlisted are:

1: Passengers Matter Category: for the new film: "A Helping Hand" - a short information film to give those passengers who might require assistance when travelling the low down on how to plan, organise, purchase tickets and arrange assistance for their journey, as well as highlight how schemes like the Orange Wallet Scheme can make journeying by train a first choice option. This project was completed with the assistance of Arriva Trains Wales, Derwen College - Gobowen, Coleg Ceredigion - Aberystwyth, and others who gave their time freely. It was filmed and edited by AMP Media Productions, also based in Aberystwyth, and produced by the Cambrian Railways Partnership

2: Outstanding Teamwork Category: for the work over the past few years that has led to the introduction of additional services on the Cambrian Lines. This involves a huge number of people both from local rail user groups, passengers, Arriva Trains Wales, Network Rail, and the Welsh Government, and nominated on behalf of all those is the Cambrian Implementation Group who headed up the campaign. The Cambrian Railways Partnership officer is/was one of the core members of the team.

3: Best Small Station Garden: for Caersws Station. Thanks to the work of the adoptees of Caersws station, Linda and Victor Yapp, the station has over the past few years been bathed in colour thanks to their efforts in planting and maintaining and nurturing the flower beds. It may be a small station, but the impact they have made with their garden there is huge.

The awards are to be held on October 1st at Torquay. The Association for Community Rail Partnerships hold the awards annually, and the Cambrian Railways Partnership has had some success previously, winning awards in 2012 in the Involving Young People category for the safety film for school students "First Class Safety" and for the Best Marketing Publication for the brochure entitled "Wales on Rails - Set your Family Free".
