The Cambrian Lines is split into two lines.
The country (main) line links Aberystwyth with Shrewsbury, and has a direct connection to Birmingham New Steet and Birmingham International Airport and the NEC. Both Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street offer fantastic connections to the whole of the UK.
The Coast line, as the name suggests covers the northern coast of Cardigan Bay, from Machynlleth right the way up to Pwllheli.
Generally, if you're heading from Shrewsbury into mid Wales on the Cambrian lines, be sure to board one of the front 2 coaches to travel to Aberystwyth, and one of the 2 rearmost coaches to travel towards the coast. The train 'splits' at Machynlleth. Be sure to check with the guards in case of any change to this.
